Marketpals (“the App”) is a friends-only marketplace where you can buy and sell items within your trusted circle. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and username. You may optionally add a profile photo.
Listings: When you post an item for sale, we collect the listing title, description, price, category, condition, and any photos you upload.
Messages: When you use the in-app chat feature, we store the content of messages exchanged between you and other users to facilitate transactions.
Comments: When you comment on a listing, we store the comment content.
Friend connections: We store your friend list and group memberships to determine which listings are visible to you.
Push notification tokens: If you enable push notifications, we store your device’s push notification token to deliver notifications about new messages, comments, and friend requests.
We do not collect your location data, contacts, browsing history, financial information, or any data from other apps on your device. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not run analytics or advertising tools.
We use your information solely to operate the App, including displaying listings to your friends, delivering messages between users, sending push notifications you have opted into, and managing your account.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
The App uses the following third-party services to operate:
Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption at rest and in transit. Photos are stored in Supabase Storage with access controlled by row-level security policies, ensuring only authorized users can view your content.
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. Listings, messages, and comments remain stored until you delete them or delete your account.

The App is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the App and on this page with an updated revision date.
